About Me.
I am a Fine Art student, and soon-to-be graduate, working with ceramics, collage, painting, video and creative writing. My practice explores themes of Femininity, fluidity, abjection, consciousness, and corporeality to investigate philosophical ideas surrounding identity, embodiment and the female experience. Key writers who motivate my practice are Lou Andreas-Salomé, Luce Irigaray, and Julia Kristeva.
I am fascinated by the human desire to name, define, categorise and claim our surroundings and how this affects our relationship with the world. Homi Bhabha's idea of 'third space thinking' describes 'the beyond' as the liminal space where fixed binary oppositions dissolve, allowing new meanings to emerge through the interaction of conflicting elements. I like to imagine that my ideas float within 'the beyond'.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to me on Instagram/email if you'd like to chat about art. I love learning about other people and their ideas, and am always up for collaborating!
